Cubs "Stubbs" Their Toe in 8th. Reds Win 5-4.

(Jason) Hey ward up, Everybody! This is my first post since the season started. I apologize. Before I get to tonights game, I will give my thoughts on Opening Day and the opening series with the Cardinals.

First, My heart goes out for Wladimir Balentien. I had a man crush on that guy. I personally think that Balentien should have beat out Laynce Nix for the final outfield spot, but thats why I don't make the big bucks, riiiight? And Aaron Miles?? Who cares.

Opening Day! Truly, I'm not surprised or upset that Nix and Dickerson started opening day. I mean come on, look at the positive, at least it wasn't Jerry Hairston Jr. and Darnell McDonald like last years Opening Day.

So, let me wrap up the Cardinal series up really quick. Good starting pitching, Bad bullpen, and can't get a timely hit. Ooh yeah.. What his face?? Albert Pujols! Yeah, thats it! He is really good (but he looked pretty silly against Bronson Arroyos change up... Just sayin'). But I'm glad to see them get at least one win from the Cards. One more thing! Hey Jonny Gomes, Please never do that chicken walk-off bird run thing again. You just look silly.

Alright, Now that I got that off my chest. Lets talk about tonight. I was there tonight, and its was singles night and I was macking all the little mommies. Truly I just wanted the free shirt.

-Homer Bailey- See, I don't know what to say about this game tonight. He pitched just as well as Harang did on Opening Day. But look, he looked terrible. He had one pitch tonight and that was his fastball. His split finger was good at times and his breaking ball was in the dirt or hanging up there for Derek Lee to imp the pach out of it. 107 pitches in 5 innings with 5 K 7 Hits. He gets a C. He kept the Reds in the game.

-Micah Owings- He looked great. As well as he pitched tonight, I didn't really care. I was too worried about and hoping I could see him hit. Make me sad not seeing him pitc... I mean.. hit every 5 days. 3 scoreless innings. Good work Micah!

-Cubs Bullpen- I've heard and read that the 2 biggest weaknesses of Cubs were there bullpen and being the Cubs and we saw both of that tonight. Cubs were cruising till there bullpen took over in the 8th. Just click the link below.

Welcome Cabrera. Bye Bye Willy.

Wow. Where do I begin?? When I first heard the rumors about the Reds wanting to sign Orlando Cabrera.. I'm not gonna lie.. I laughed and said "The Reds going out and getting a big name Shortstop?? PUhhleeassse." MANNN was I wrong. The rumors came out that the Reds DID sign Orlando Cabrera to a 1-Year 3 million dollar deal, I basically exploded in my pants and started making some calls and texts to all my friends. No lie. None of them believed me.

Haha. But then I got to thinking baseball. Who is coming off the 40-Man to make room for O.C.. HA! Then I woke up Monday morning and saw that the Reds traded Willy Taveras and Adam Rosales to the A's for Aaron Miles and PTBNL. That answered my question about the 40-man roster spot. I must say this.. This trade was so smart by Walt Jocketty. He makes room for 2 spots on the 40-man, gets rid of Willy Taveras and Adam Rosales (Speaking of Adam Rosales, Sorry for all you A.R. lovers. I hate to break it to you.. He wasn't that great. He was the next Charlie Hustle without talent. Too mean? I don't care.) and we dump Willy's contract on the A's which might mean we might be in the hunt for another left field option. Jonny Gomes? Who knows.
I am loving what Walt Jocketty is doing with The Cincinnati Reds. This is turning out to be a very talented team.

Welcome to Cincinnati Orlando Cabrera and Aaron Miles.

P.S. - Walt Jocketty has man crush on Scott Rolen. Just sayin'...
